Sustainable Forest Management Contributions

This ABCFP webinar, on May 18, 2022, will provide an overview of the role of forests in the carbon cycle, review forest carbon dynamics as affected by forest management, conservation and changing natural disturbance regimes in BC, as well as opportunities to increase forest resilience to climate change impacts.

Expectations are growing that the land sector, and in particular forests, contribute to net negative emissions and help achieve emission reduction targets. Sustainable forest management, use of forest products, forest conservation, risks of natural disturbance increases, and other climate change impacts will interact and determine the future contributions of the forest sector as a net source or sink of greenhouse gases.

In Sustainable Forest Management Contributions to Climate Change Mitigation, hear how sustainable forest management and the responsible use of wood products can contribute to climate change mitigation if properly implemented.
