How You Can Contribute


If you feel strongly about an article you read, some aspect of the association or forestry current affairs, the Letters section is your venue to express those thoughts. The word count limit is 300 words.

On Topic Articles

This section provides space for articles that adhere to each issue's theme, for example, those noted in the editorial schedule below. The word count limit is 850 words.

Interest Articles

This section provides space for articles written about issues relevant to the forestry profession that do not relate to the issue's theme. The word count limit is 850 words. Think of it as a features section, where a broad range of forestry topics will be explored.


It is very important to many of our readers to receive word of the passing of a colleague. We rely on members and immediate family to provide obituaries of recently deceased members for publication in BC Forest Professional.

Science in Action

This feature is dedicated to showcasing innovative initiatives and projects that utilize forestry technology in practical ways. The word count is 850 words.
