The bylaws, together with the Foresters Act, are what govern forest professionals in BC. It is the responsibility of all forest professionals to know, understand and abide by the bylaws.
Bylaw 10 - Identification of Professional Work
Identification of Professional Work (Bylaw 10) sets out the way you must identify yourself when it comes to signing and sealing your professional work. There are guidelines for both hard copies and work submitted electronically. The Guidelines for Interpretation of Bylaw 10 – Identification of Professional Work document accompanies this bylaw to help members implement it.
Bylaw 11 - Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics (Bylaw 11) is a set of defined principles and rules of conduct that govern a group or organization. All members are expected to abide by the Code of Ethics as a condition of membership. The Code of Ethics: Guidelines for Interpretation document accompanies the Code of Ethics to help members implement it.
Bylaw 12 - Practice Standards
The Standards of Professional Practice (Bylaw 12) deal with professional practice expectations related to competence, independence, integrity, due diligence and stewardship. The standards augment the Foresters Act and the Code of Ethics in further defining the conduct and practice expected of forest professionals. The Standards of Professional Practice: Guidelines for Interpretation document accompanies the standards to assist members in its implementation.
