Post a Job Opportunity
The ABCFP Job Centre page features two types of jobs:
- those for forest professionals; and
- those for other forest sector workers in areas such as human resources, communications, trades, labour, operations, GIS, management, and student positions.
Price: if you are looking to fill a vacancy in your forestry organization, post your job opportunity for up two months for $125 (plus GST).
Hire a Forest Professional
As an employer in the forest sector in BC, your due diligence starts by hiring the right person for the job. In British Columbia, the Professional Governance Act defines the practice of professional forestry and limits it to certain members of the Association of BC Forest Professionals, namely registered professional foresters, registered forest technologists and special permit holders. The Foresters Act may impact how your organization deals with forest issues and who you hire to carry out forestry work.
When a position needs to be filled by a forest professional, make sure your candidates are registered with the ABCFP and eligible to practice professional forestry in BC. To find out whether an individual is registered with us, check our online member directory.
How to Post a Job
For jobs requiring a forest professional, please be sure your advertisement complies with the Professional Governance Act. Advertisers who seek candidates for positions within BC, and for which the duties and functions involve the practice of professional forestry, must use wording indicating that candidates have to be registered with the ABCFP (or eligible for registration) as a professional forester (RPF) and/or forest technologist (RFT).
To post a job:
- fill out the form and attach the job posting file in Word (doc, docx) or Acrobat (pdf) format;

If there are no outstanding invoices, your job will be posted on http://abcfp.ca/web/JOBS within two business days.
