Candidate for
Councillor at Large

Dave Clarke,

RPF #2341

Executive Summary

Dave Clarke, RPF (Ret.), started his forestry career in 1977, becoming a registered professional forester in 1990.

His career has allowed him to work in all regions of BC, with a diversity of people, face many challenges and gain experience in ever-evolving roles. He started out consulting in timber cruising, forestry engineering and managing a variety of forest tenures.

Over the years, these responsibilities grew into roles of building relationships with people in a diversity of companies, First Nations, associations, governments and academia.

That experience enabled him to be a lead member of the team, and First Nations partnership that negotiated the purchase of a Tree Farm Licence in 2011.

Dave also spent nine years as executive director of the Forest Practices Board (FPB), an independent organization that monitors forest and range practices in BC.

Having retired in August 2021, he hopes to use his 44 years of experience, knowledge, and passion for forestry to help the ABCFP strategically navigate a collaborative and successful future under the Professional Governance Act (PGA) and the evolution of the right to practice.
