SUBMISSION TO BC GOVERNMENT 2017 FLOOD AND FIRE REVIEW PANEL: The ABCFP provided the BC government’s 2017 Flood and Fire Review with a submission containing a number of insights and recommendations to improve forest management as it pertains to wildfire. The submission is based on consultations with a cross section of forest professionals who have extensive wildfire experience and highlights potential shortcomings in forestry practices relating to wildfire management as well as providing a list of key recommendations for each of the four phases of emergency fire management (Planning and Preparedness, Prevention and Mitigation, Response, and Recovery). |
